Lehigh Technologies’ Tom Rosenmayer to speak at the Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting

Specialty materials leader to discuss sustainable MRP technology at “Innovative Materials for Asphalt Materials” workshop

ATLANTA—Jan. 7, 2014 – Lehigh Technologies, a leading specialty materials company that produces micronized rubber powders (MRP), announced today that Dr. Tom Rosenmayer, vice president of technology, will speak at the annual Transportation Research Board (TRB) meeting on January 11 in Washington, D.C. Dr. Rosenmayer will join a workshop titled “Innovative Materials for Asphalt Materials,” where he will provide an overview of recent advances in sustainable MRP technology that have enabled key improvements for elastic properties and storage capacity for asphalt.

The workshop focuses on how recent changes in performance-graded (PG) binder specifications, including multiple stress-creep recovery, elastic recovery, and a new emphasis on sustainability, are changing the asphalt binder additive marketplace.

TRB meets once a year to discuss all transportation modes and address topics of interest to policy makers, administrators, researchers, government officials and influential industry representatives. Attracting over 12,000 professionals from around the world, the annual meeting features over 5,000 presentations in the form of sessions and workshops. The theme for this year’s meeting is ‘Corridors to the Future: Transportation and Technology.’
