100 Million Can’t Be Wrong.
In 2011 Lehigh announced that its technically-advanced micronized rubber powder, PolyDyne™, is in over 100 Million tires. The reason for this is that PolyDyne™ is easy to incorporate into tire compounds, allowing tires to be more sustainable without impacting safety or performance. What’s more, micronized rubber powder does not rely on oil, therefore, allowing tire companies to better manage their costs. PolyDyne™ is versatile, going into passenger car tires, retreads, off-the-road tires, and even farm tires.
Our PolyDyne™ product is also used in industrial rubber applications, such anti-vibration mounts, seals, hoses and gaskets, and is available in natural rubber, nitrile rubber, tire material, and we are always evaluating new rubber polymer types.

Closed-Loop Services. More and more tire companies are using Lehigh’s Closed-Loop services as an important element of their zero-waste initiatives, reusing excess material to eliminate useable waste from landfills. This ‘zero waste compound’ is developed by companies sending Lehigh their material, which is then processed through our mills, and sent back to be incorporated into a company’s products.
This Closed-Loop process works for various types of tire material, including:
- Whole truck tire
- Buffings/peelings
- Butyl Rubber
- Natural Rubber
- Nitrile Rubber
- Pin vents
- Retreads
Lehigh offers a range of micronized particle sizes to fit any application- from 40 mesh to 200 mesh. PolyDyne™ can be incorporated into tires around the world, including Europe where our products have been tested by TÜV SÜD for the European market.
